Meghan, Veterinary Technician
Hometown:
Colorado
My Pet Family:
I have a three-year-old Maltese named Ellie. Ellie is a lap dog who hates going on walks and is very content staying inside. She loves wrestling with my parents’ dog — a seven-year-old Yorkie mix named Axel.
My Favorite Story About A Pet:
My favorite story about my pets is how I ended up with my Maltese. I was originally supposed to get a Morky puppy. I’d already put down my deposit to hold the puppy I wanted. Unfortunately, the pet store didn’t end up getting the Morky puppies because they weren’t a good weight. I went in, and they told me I could pick a different one. Ellie was perfect!
When I’m Not at Cherished Companions, You’ll Find Me…
Anywhere outdoors — such as hiking, walking my dogs and just relaxing.
Education:
I gained my Associates of Applied Science degree at Bel-Rea in Denver. I want to further my education for physical therapy.
Career Choice:
I knew pretty young that I wanted to be a vet tech. While I was growing up, my aunt (who is also a vet tech) took me into her clinic to shadow her.
Role at Cherished Companions:
I am a veterinary technician.
Greatest Thing About Working with Animals:
For me, it’s the patient care. I love taking care of pets who may be a little stressed.
Favorite Compliment from a Customer:
“I love how you take your time and get down on the floor to love on my pets.”
