Sierra, Veterinary Technician
My Pet Family:
I live with my fat cat Meeko and a turtle we call Marshall. Back home, my parents have six dogs! Their names are Elvis, Duncan, Mali, Inigo, Holly, and Lois.
When I’m Not at Cherished Companions, You’ll Find Me…
When I am not at work, you can find me enjoying the great outdoors: camping, hiking, swimming, or attempting to snowboard. I also love trying new restaurants and breweries, cooking, playing games, traveling, and binge-watching television.
I finished my Bachelor of Science – Biology at Texas State University in 2015, and I’m now enrolled in a Master of Arts – Biology program offered through Miami University but taught at the Denver Zoo!
I love working with animals and with people, so the trick for me is finding a way to do both. Here I get to build relationships with pets and their owners! Eventually, I want to expand that to working with wildlife and the public.
My Role at Cherished Companions:
When people ask what I do, I usually say “dog nurse.” Really I am a Veterinary Technician here at CCAC where I get to care for cats and dogs, get to know owners and teach them about animal health, and assist doctors with various treatments and procedures!
Greatest Thing About Working with Animals:
Animals enrich our lives in so many ways, and I love knowing that I help keep people’s most cherished companions happy and healthy!
Favorite compliment from a customer:
“You were so sweet and helpful! Keep smiling!”
